Britney (“Brit”) L. Malpiede is committed to proactive representation. She exudes a genuine desire to help, and believes actively listening, to each client's priorities, is paramount to building productive and trusting client relationships.

Brit believes a cooperative approach (particularly when children are involved) can yield decidedly effective results. However, success can also often be garnered through strategic litigation, when appropriate.

In her free time Brit enjoys yoga, camping, hiking, cycling, spending time with friends, international travel, and going on adventures with her dog, Zoey. Originally from Colorado, Brit is enamored with the outdoors.

Brit is a member of the California Bar and admitted to practice law in the Federal District Courts of the Southern District of California. She received her Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law, and her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Sociology from Colorado State University.

During law school she was on the Dean’s List, received an Award for Academic Excellence, among other recognition, and was the President of Women’s Law Caucus. Brit is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, the San Diego Family Law Bar Association, and Lawyers Club of San Diego. She has received the State Bar of California’s Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Services three times. Her favored pro bono organizations are San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, and Casa Cornelia Law Center.

Brit speaks English and Spanish.
